West Coast Swing Dance

West Coast Swing (WCS) is a partner dance with roots in the Lindy Hop. It is characterised by an elastic look that results from its extension-compression technique of partner connection and is danced primarily in a slotted area on the dance floor. Wikipedia

WCS is taught by swingFX (www.swingfx.co.nz) who started teaching classes in 2006. swingFX offer a half hour beginner class on Mondays at 8pm (cost $5). They also have an intermediate class at 7:30pm and there is a social dance and practice time from 8:30pm.
